My name Is Isabella Grosso. I’m half Italian, as well as, Spanish and Native American. My dad is a Classical Jazz musician. As a child, he would take me to see ballet performances at the Dorothy Chandler. Sometimes we would have great seats and other times we were in the nose bleed seats, but he always taught me about the beauty in the arts and how the music can take your breath away. I knew that’s what I wanted to do. I definitely inherited the artist blood from my Dad. I have three older brothers who definitely made me tough, so aside from my pink tutu, I was also a rebel.
I started dancing at the age of three, but does three years old really count?
I just jumped around twirling and waving my arms like a crazy kid.
I started to study with Dean Barlow who was Paula Abdul’s teacher.
I studied Jazz, Tap, and Ballet. At the age of 7, I knew that this is what I really wanted to do, and at age 12, I started to assist my dance teacher.
My love for the art led me to study at Debbie Allen Dance Academy. I did summer intensives at the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and Parsons Dance Company in NYC. My dance repertories includes Hip-Hop, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Salsa, Tango, and Swing.
I am truly honored to have worked with such great, talented artists such as Lady Gaga, Debbie Allen, Rihanna, Pitbull, Janet Jackson and many more. I have also appeared in commercials for I-pod, K-Swiss, 7up, Sears and Puma. I have modeled in many prints and stock photography with a shot in Maxim Europe Publication.
While continuing to dance, I thought, “Hey, why not act also?” I mean I used to think I was Lucille Ball. I have studied at American Academy of Performing Arts (AADA) in Los Angeles. I have also studied with John Homa and Kate McGregor-Stewart. I worked on productions such as Entourage, The Mentalis, Life in Pieces, Desperate Housewives, and The Sopranos. I was Miss.Italy 2013 and I am a proud LA KISS girl.
In my downtime, I run a non-profit called She-Is powerful, teach dance, and I enjoy reading books and drinking my dirty Chai.
